Dragon Guard Storage is a family run business located just outside of Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthenshire. Our purpose built facility offers many storage options, so we can help with any of your storage dilemmas. Insulated containers and humidity controlled containers are available with electricity connected by request, all sited at our facility with ground level access, 24hr HD CCTV, flood lighting and security fencing.
Convenient storage for shops/businesses who buy stock in bulk and we can even take deliveries on your behalf by arrangement!
In our secure compound we offer storage for Caravans, Motorhomes, Boats and Cars. More secure than the average driveway and another way of freeing up space.
Our storage is completely accessible which means you can drive right up to your container and access your possessions whenever you like between the hours of 7.30am-8pm. We can offer 24 hour access for your complete convenience, please contact us for further details.
Self Storage Options
Containers - L10ft x W8ft x H8ft
These are our smaller units and will hold the average contents of a 1 bedroom house/flat. With easy opening doors.
Their small size makes them easy to pack and unpack. Besides being excellent for smaller businesses, these containers are also good for domestic use. A high security padlock and key can be purchased in our office which complies with our insurance terms. The padlock is shrouded by a tamper-proof factory fitted steel lock box which prevents the lock from being cut, for extra security.
Containers - L20ft x W8ft x H8ft
On average, these containers will fit the contents of a 3 bedroom home. Easy to access with plenty of space to drive right up to your container. Electricity can be connected by request. A high security padlock and key can be purchased in our office. The padlock is shrouded by a tamper-proof factory fitted steel lock box which prevents the lock from being cut, for extra security.
Standard Container
Brand new, premium containers providing clean and dry storage. Excellent value for money. Ideal for cars, bikes etc.
Insulated Container

Secure Compound Storage
Our compound has hardstanding with 24 hour HD CCTV, coded gate entry and flood lighting all security fenced and separate from our other storage options. Electricity and water available within the compound

In our secure compound we offer outdoor storage for Caravans, Motorhomes, Boats and other seasonal/ leisure vehicles.

What you need to know
We agree to grant you, and you accept, a licence to use and access the storage identified as your storage unit, on the conditions set out in the Licence. We urge you to read these conditions carefully before signing the storage licence. All such conditions will be binding on your signing of the agreement. Without prejudice to the importance of you reading all such conditions please acknowledge that you have read the conditions which are referred to below. This licence shall not create a tenancy or lease or the relationship of landlord and tenant between you and us.

Our opening hours are 7.30am - 8pm, 7 days per week and outside of these hours by prior arrangement.
Frequently Asked Questions
You can store almost anything at Dragon Guard Storage, as long as it's not perishable, flammable or illegal!
You cannot store gas, any flammable items, fireworks, perishable foods or materials, dangerous chemicals, goods of an illegal nature or live animals.
You can move in straight away (subject to availability) on the same day you enquire or by arrangement, at your convenience.
Notice is only one week
We sell heavy duty padlocks with enclosed shackles to defend against bolt cutters and saws. Closed shackle padlocks are the ideal option for securing containers.
Please bring the following;
Two forms of ID, one should be photographic (driver's license, passport etc.)
Payment (cheque or cash)
Direct Debit details
A padlock (we sell them if you forget)
At any time during our opening hours.
By prior arrangement after opening hours for your complete convenience.

Whilst it is not a legal requirement, insurance is important to protect your belongings whilst in storage. To help you understand the reasons behind taking out adequate insurance we have provided a list below of some of the most frequently asked questions. We have also provided some links to companies that provide cover for your goods whilst in storage.
Does Dragon Guard Self Storage’s insurance cover my belongings?
In simple terms, no. It is your responsibility as the customer to ensure your belongings are covered. We don't know exactly what is in the unit and therefore we are unable to insure your belongings as we don't know the replacement value of your goods. You may also move your goods in and out of storage at any time so the value of insurance you need may change.
Do I legally need to take out insurance? The goods are not worth much and not worth insuring.
There is no legal requirement to take out insurance. However, if your goods are worth storing, they are worth insuring. While our facility is are safe and secure, incidents can happen anywhere which is why we advise all customers
to be insured.
Where do I get insurance?
We do not offer insurance directly but there are many companies that will insure your goods whilst in storage. It may be worth checking your home insurance initially though. It might be possible to extend your home insurance to cover belongings kept in another location. You will need to contact your home insurance provider to see if they would cover your goods and ensure you have our address to hand as this will be needed to add onto your policy. There is usually only a small fee for this. However, it does vary between different providers. Also, check if there is a maximum period of time the insurance will cover your goods for in storage and the maximum value. Sometimes, the full value of your contents insurance will not be extended to your self storage unit.

How do I calculate the amount of insurance I need?
To work out the level of insurance cover, you first need to consider what you will be storing in your unit. Be aware this may change over time. Once you have decided what it is you are going to store, you need to calculate what it
would cost to replace all those items - not what they are worth, but the cost to replace them.
Can I just take out the minimum amount of insurance required?
While we hope you never have to claim, the purpose of insurance is to protect your belongings and yourself in the case of an incident. If you under insure, you will not receive the full replacement value of your belongings should you
need to claim. You may not even receive the full amount of your insurance cover if it is found you have under-insured. For example, if a small number of your belongings in the unit get damaged and you claim on your insurance for
the full amount as this is what it would cost you to replace those few items, the insurance company can reject the claim and only give back a proportion due to the under-insurance of your belongings.
